A resident-led community organization building collective power in Cherry Hill.

The Cherry Hill People’s Union is a resident-led chapter of Progressive Maryland, formed by Cherry Hill residents to ensure our community has a real voice in decisions that shape our future.

Why We Exist:

Right now, major development decisions are being made about the former New Era Academy and Carter G. Woodson sites – including proposals for mixed-income housing, retail, and long-term land control. These decisions will shape Cherry Hill for generations.

Our goal is simple: ensure residents – not outside developers – help shape the future of Cherry Hill.

What We Do:

We organize residents to:

• Learn what’s being proposed for our neighborhood
• Make sure residents are at the table when decisions are made
• Fight for housing, jobs, and investment that benefit Cherry Hill families
• Fight back against pollution and the cumulative environmental harms our community faces
• Demand transparency from developers and city officials
• Build collective power so Cherry Hill residents shape our own future

Because the future of Cherry Hill should be decided by the people who live here.
